The American luggage and travel accessories retailer Away, known to be one of the highest funded female-backed startups, approached us in the Fall of 2021, with the wish to create a custom titling typeface as the centerpiece of their holiday campaign.
After exploring various directions, we went for a rather friendly-looking transitional serif typeface, bringing constructed and cursive letterforms together, as well as a good amount of subtle details to be revealed when used in very big size. We also designed a full set of ornamented capitals, mixing lively calligraphic strokes with melted, organic curves. A wild cocktail.
